What kind of clay do you use?
I use Sculpey Soufflé + Sculpey Premo polymer clay! Sometimes a little Sculpey III here and there.
Would you send me a photo of the portrait before you mail it to me?
I mail the portraits without sending customers photos of it. If there are details you want included in your portrait, feel free to ask me for them when you submit your order form!
I don’t have one photo of everyone together that I can send you. Can I send separate individual pictures?
Sure! You can send me multiple photos of individual people, pets, families etc! They don’t all have to be in one group picture.
Can I learn how to make these?
I haven’t created any classes, but if you are interested, you can sign up for my email newsletter in case I ever do! Also, feel free to shoot me an email at hello@littleclayland.com to let me know what you’d like to see!
In the meantime, you can watch these time-lapse videos of my sculpting process.
What do you need for me to make my portrait look like someone?
Once you completed your purchase of a custom portrait, you will receive an email confirmation from hello@littleclayland.com containing a link to order form. Use that order form to email me photos and details to customize your portrait.
Here is what I ask for in the form! (Scroll down to see a picture of it)
Photo(s) of all people and pets in the portrait. (Doesn’t need to be a group shot - separate photos are fine too.)
Description of clothing & color preferences. ((Ex: fancy clothes, hiking clothes, halloween colors, etc. No preference is fine too.)
Description of activities or specific items you'd like the people to be holding or doing. (Ex: Campfire, birthday cake, flower pot, etc. No preference is fine too.)
If anyone should be wearing glasses.
Hair colors for everyone and if anyone should have facial hair.
Skin tones for everyone.
If you'd like a metal hook in the portrait for hanging. (It can stand alone with or without!)
